I find short stories compelling because they get directly to the point. No excess baggage. No detours. Writers are forced to concentrate on the essence of the story, setting aside stylistic flourishes and complex plots. The result is a tightly focused narrative that hits with a powerful impact.
Louis Kummerer is an American writer and a lifelong fan of short stories. His fiction has appeared in numerous publications, including the New Delta Review, Flash Fiction Magazine and the Brussels Review. He currently lives in Phoenix, Arizona where he works as a contract technical writer.
